Kooperativa and Pábení: Prevention program for a more resilient landscape
The aim of the program is to increase the landscape’s resistance to flooding by means of landscape measures close to nature and thereby to contribute to the adaptation of the landscape to climate change. Kooperativa offers selected municipalities the payment of a feasibility study from the association Water, People, Landscape, the output of which is an overview of possible measures close to nature in the landscape that reduce the risk of flooding. After the implementation of the measures, the municipality’s insurance contract is made more favorable. Other partners are involved in the program, e.g., Erste Grantika or the Partnership Foundation. In 2022, a pilot program took place in which seven municipalities participated, and this year another ten settlements will be added.
